In-School Consultations

The ultimate goal of therapy is to support and develop the communication skills that will set children up for academic and social success.  Often children are best able to exhibit their skills in environment that therapy can provide; individualized attention with minimal external distraction.

Generalizing these skills into the classroom can be a challenge as children are faced with the additional demands of filtering distractions of the classroom, the time sensitivity associated with participating in a larger group, and increased independence.  School consultations effectively support generalization of skills from therapy into the classroom. These consults can include class observations, teacher collaboration, modifications of school material, and attendance to IEP/individualized service plan meetings.
