“ I had the pleasure of working with Katie Tengel for three years. As an occupational therapist, I have learned so much from collaborating with Katie. Aside from her expertise in speech and language, Katie also utilizes sensory and behavioral strategies with clients to achieve maximal therapeutic results. Katie communicates clearly and effectively with parents and other providers, and she builds rapport with clients quickly and easily. Katie is a knowledgeable speech language pathologist who truly cares about her clients and their families! ”

“ When schools went virtual and summer camps were cancelled, we reached out to Katie for some help with dealing with some social emotional challenges our daughter was facing. Katie is extremely kind and respectful. She provided us with skills to work with our daughter and has really been able to develop a terrific rapport with her. She helped us prepare our daughter for the birth of our second child and has been an terrific resource in helping us nature and instill growing self confidence in our daughter. We feel lucky to have her on our team to help us make decisions in the best interests of our daughter. ”

“ Katie Tengel has been our son’s primary Speech Language Pathologist (and much more) since the Fall of 2015. Over the years, Katie has worked closely with our child on a range of developmental language and learning issues to build skills and confidence so that our son can succeed in a mainstream school environment. As a professional SLP, she has been knowledgeable, creative, patient, enthusiastic, flexible, and nurturing. She incorporates everything that she learns about our child – from her one-on-one work with him and from ongoing input from other health and educational professionals – to build an integrated whole-child approach to establish rapport and to create successful interventions and programs.
Katie is a firm believer in collaboration – with families, schools, and other professionals. In her broad role, she has worked closely with our school’s teachers, other therapeutic providers, and outside health and education professionals. She willingly and eagerly collaborates and advises, shares successful strategies and techniques, communicates goals, and advocates to provide a critical perspective from her long history with our child. Her input with the broader team that supports our child is priceless.
As a family who has worked with myriad therapists over the years, Katie has no match. In addition to being a stellar SLP, she is a counselor, an advocate, an advisor, and a supporter to our entire family. Her insights and observations have led to essential recommendations and advice, including guiding us to obtain a neuropsychology evaluation which uncovered important information about our child. We have full trust in Katie’s proactive pursuit of what is best for our child.
Katie’s years of experience give her the deep understanding of the challenges that language, behavior and learning disorders can have on the whole family. She is an endless resource to our child and our family and has been more flexible and versatile than we could have ever imagined. We are so grateful and blessed to have Katie on our team! ”
